Nightmare on Elm Street and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare Discussion and Questions.
Decided to put the two together since while they are different characters, the movies are still very similar.

I would have liked to have seen more of him in Freddy's dead but it would have been a bit strange with him already being a victim in the first one...

They could have written in the script, that the bed thought Johnny tasted really *yech*, and therefore spat him out again.
But they didn't.
