Dark Shadows

Do we have a thread for this? Couldn't find one. Just wanted to mention that I watched the first two DVDs in the series on NetFlix. They start in the middle of the series--apparently Barnabas wasn't part of the cast until then. They give you an "introduction" that catches you up. VERY funny. I think it must have been broadcast live, given all the line flubs. Very dramatic/melodramatic--you'll recognize Johnny's portrayal of Ichabod Crane in the way the lines are delivered. (Plus the index-finger ring.) Kind of a tedious soap until Barnabas Collins shows up, but what an intriguing character. I can see why Johnny liked him. As cheesy as it is (even has theramin music!), now I'm hooked. But be warned, you REALLY have to suspend your disbelief

Just read on the Zone that DS is actually now appearing on the production listings--so I guess it's official. Tim Burton directing, Johnny starring, John August writing. Yay!

We spend our days.. "waiting" .. Would think something should start filming soon.
I was hooked on Dark Shadows when I was a kid.. used to run home just to watch it after school

That's almost too much goodies!
And I wonder how the script will be.
With the original series, there was a long period that it was an ordinairy soap, or I am wrong?
I hope they will skip that part, and go straight into the "Supernatural Thriller" (--- it's not a monster movie)
