What do we have so far, apart from articles in papers and mags? Well: the official-site-under-construction. With a HUGE screenshot from the film (click on the pic) No Johnny to be seen though...

The movie also has a page on Wikipedia *click*
Premise
"In the present day, immortal 1,000-year-old Doctor Parnassus (Plummer) leads a traveling theater troupe that offers audience members a chance to go beyond reality through a magical mirror in his possession. Members of the troupe include a sleight of hand expert, Anton (Garfield), and a dwarf (Verne Troyer), Percy. Parnassus had been able to guide the imagination of others through a deal with the Devil (Waits), who now comes to collect on the arrangement, targeting the doctor's daughter (Lily Cole). The troupe, which is joined by a mysterious outsider named Tony (portrayed by Heath Ledger, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, and Colin Farrell), embark through parallel worlds to rescue the girl."

They should start doing some press for Parnassus before too long, I would think. Don't know how much Johnny would be involved with that though.

Oh? I hadn't heard a release date for it. I thought it was going to be January or at least early in '09
Have they found a distributor for it yet?
I heard they were having dificulties there.

I'm not too sure about the realeasing date ...
And about the distributor: with Terry Gilliam steering, it's a bumpy ride anyway!

You would think that whoever was distributing it would jump on the Heath wagon now while it is so popular. Even if he does get the Oscar for the Joker, September is a long way off after that. The makers of Secret Window were lucky to have timed the release of that movie so close to the Pirates popularity. It really helped to sell it.

Well, there will probably be hard negotiations, because the studio know they have Heath's last film, want to have a lot of money for it. And the distributors probably fear, that Batman already took away the biggest wave of interest of the audience for the death of Heath ...

Also, I read, a lot of the studios are nervous about dealing with a Gilliam creation, so they will be weighing that against the "Heath's last film" thing.

They are afraid of Terry, for the same reasons they are afraid of Johnny. These guys don not fit in the Hollywood frame --- and can not be forced to fit in either.

Can't go by the Oscars. I go by the People's Choice. They are as accurate as you can get as to what the general public is craving. Too bad the Execs don't pay more attention to that.
